We have all had it, maybe even had it to much. Fancy porridge recipes are popping up everywhere. This recipe is to honor the simplest, most well-known and hearty version that will kick- start your day with a healthy digestion and a organic natural sweetness to remind you of all the good in life; like porridge.
|A handful of mixed raw nuts soaked overnight, rinsed and chopped|
|10 roughly chopped dates|
|2 tablespoons shredded coconut|
|1 cup rolled oats / 240 ml|
|2 1/2 cup of water / 720 ml|
|1/4 teaspoon salt|
|1 tablespoon coconut sugar or jaggery|
|Lets do it|
|1)||Add oats, water, salt and sugar to a small saucepan.|
|2)||Place on low medium heat and begin to stir.|
|3)||Keep stirring until the porridge begins to bubble.|
|4)||When it reach the bubbling stage stir for one more minute.|
|5)||Fill two bowls with the warm-earthy goodness.|
|6)||Sprinkle over cinnamon, chopped nuts, dates, shredded coconut and drizzle with maple syrup.|
