How to cook perfect red rice

Red rice has such a delicious texture, a nutty flavour and a colourful appearance that captures the eye. Upgrade your daily classics or add a fancy twist to the dinner party with red rice.

 

When cooking red rice always use 1 part rice to 2 parts water

Serves 2 people

 Ingredients
150 ml red rice
300 ml water
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Himalayan Rock Salt

 

 

 It goes like this..
1) Wash the rice well.
2) Bring water and rice to boil on maximum heat, without lid.
3) Once boiling cover saucepan with a tight fitting lid.
4) Turn the heat down to simmer and leave it to cook fir 35 minutes.
5) After 35 minutes turn the heat off. Let the rice rest in the saucepan with the lid on for 10 minutes.
6) Remove lid, add oil and salt. Genlty stir using a fog.
